Fair profile of Esteban

Of course, you should read my book Esteban: The African Slave Who Explored America, if you want to know more about Esteban and the place he holds in American history centuries later.
For a quick profile of the man, however, and one that is fairly presented, I recommend the profile titled “Esteban de Dorantes” on the Coronado National Memorial website. You’ll find it at https://home.nps.gov/coro/learn/historyculture/esteban-de-dorantes.htm Its research source is listed as Richard Flint, the leading scholar on the Coronado expedition of 1540–41 to the American Southwest. Coronado arrived a year after Esteban entered the present states of Arizona and New Mexico in 1539.
